weigh in wednesdays

By monica • December 29th, 2009

well we’re about halfway through the holiday season and most of us are thinking about the new year.

some of us are making new year resolutions - others are writing down our dreams - and still others making plans and setting goals.  for most americans living a healthier lifestyle, losing weight and working out are somewhere on that list.  with that in mind, i am going to start with “weigh in wednesdays”.

weigh in wednesdays will be an opportunity for you to ask you questions, make comments and learn from others as we work together to achieve our health and fitness goals in 2010.  in 2005 i started what i call the “right sizing your life journey”.  it took a year of prayer, hard work and commitment - but over that year i lost 70 pounds.  i’ve been successful in keeping that weight off and working out on a regular basis.

the good news is you can do the same thing- and i want to help you.  today i was on the moody broadcasting radio show with nancy turner.  many of you called in and asked questions - here is yet another opportunity to ask questions, make comments or submit prayer requests.

somewhere between yo-yo dieting, over packed schedules, and driving the kids around town there has to be time for you.  with all you have to do being healthier is a choice you want to make and keep on making.  if you look on the free tools and resources section of this site you’ll find a study guide to help you if you feel like it’s the holidays and i just CAN’T stop eating.  download that guide and let the journey begin.

i’ll be adding more information to this site and through this BLOG to help.  tomorrow is our first weigh in wednesday - so get your questions ready - send in your prayer requests and let’s begin.

now is the perfect time to start Right Sizing Your Life…….

Dear Monica, this morning’s topic truely ministered to me. I took notes about practical and tangible things I could do to help me in my journey to right sizing my life priorities. This is not new to me and God has made me aware of not only the lies I have believed about putting others first but also how I have not given myself a right place in God’s abundant life for me that includes an energetic and goal oriented healthy lifestyle. I do have a prayer request: that I find a good mentor or partner to help in this journey so we can encourage one another in our successes and lift each other up in our set-backs. Thanks for your ministry

cynthia,
i am so glad that our topic was helpful to you. in the first chapter of RSYL is talk about ‘Clearing the clutter” which is esssentially exactly what you’re talking about…the garbage…the lies….that we believe. it sounds like you’re right on track by recognizing those lies and making a new beginnning for yourself.
yes, i will pray for you to have a mentor someone to help you on this journey. i will also be on the weigh in wednesday BKOG every wednesday so check back each week. let me know how you’re doing. i will be glad to pray for you - answer any questions and offer encouragement. my RSYL journey was hard work but it was such an investment and learned so much. i wouldn’t trade it for anything.
i look forward to seeing what God does in your life and the changes He brings as you Right Size Your Life.
shalom,
monica
