celebrating the value of friendship
every once in awhile i think of the old song that says “i get by with a little help from my friends”. okay so that dates me - but my point is that friendship is an important part of life - something to be cherished, protected and valued.
the book of proverbs says a friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity. i’ve had lots of friends throughout the years and i am most thankful for those friends that have stood by me in the good, the bad and the ugly.
today my dearest friend is celebrating her birthday. today has been filled with goodness for her. her children are calling her - giving her presents. her wonderful husband gave her a beautiful gift. today my dearest friend is celebrating her life and feeling “the love” as the saying goes.
today i am celebrating with and for my dearest friend. my heart rejoices to hear her so happy. i am so thankful that her friends and family are letting her know how important she is - because she is a wonderful person.
she has been a true friend to me. she has listened to me whine, complain, cry, preach, pray, laugh (you know my obnoxious laugh)…….ask questions, wonder why, struggle to control, release….pick it back up…you know the whole spectrum of life in this fallen world. she has loved me enough to be honest with me….she has loved me enough to stay quiet and pray……it’s been a blessing for me to have gwen in my life.
i pray that we all have such a wonderful friend. i pray that we all aspire to be such a wonderful friend. the old song is right in some ways - while our ultimate help comes from the Lord - we definitely benefit from the help and love of our friends.

Awww,,,, thank you so very much for absolutely everything. I definitely “get by with a little help from my friend.” Funny song that I remeber also, but so very true . In fact, let’s change that word to not a little rather a lot of help from my friend who was given to me by God. PTL! You are most precious Monica.
